Weather ruined our spring expedition to The Enchantments

My first extended backpacking expedition was supposed to be four days in the Enchantments, east of Seattle, on one of the most coveted overnight permits in Washington State. A precipitation front was forecast to sit on the range for all three of the days we’d be in there, with avalanche warnings for Asgard Pass, so we canceled. Instead we snowshoed up to Artist Point in the shadow of Mount Baker and camped in the snow under a full moon.
