Before leaving our first New York apartment I wanted to appreciate what 330 square feet in the East Village actually got us. No view, no oven, no washer and dryer, and none of it mattered as much as we expected next to the white painted brick and a neighborhood full of late-night food. If you’re moving to New York and you can afford to, live in the middle of everything first. We’re heading across the East River to Williamsburg.
